Golf Cart Fuel, Maintenance & Roadside Support in San Pedro

Your Golf Cart Reliability Guide

Know where to refuel, what to check before an outing and how to get help during your Advanced golf cart rental.

Our gas-powered carts arrive with a full tank and must be returned full. If something goes wrong during your rental, our San Pedro team provides 24/7 roadside assistance.

Need help with your cart now? Call or WhatsApp +501 614-4242. Send your location, cart details and a description of the problem.

For an accident involving injuries, fire or immediate danger, seek emergency assistance first by calling 911.

Fuel: What You Receive and What You Return

Your cart is delivered with a full tank of gasoline. You pay for the fuel used during your rental and return the cart with a full tank.

Before leaving at handover, check the fuel gauge with our team and ask us to explain anything unfamiliar.

How Often Will You Need to Refuel?

There is no fixed number of days that a tank will last. Fuel use depends on the cart, passenger load, distances travelled and driving conditions.

Several short outings around town use fuel differently from repeated journeys north or trips toward Secret Beach. Check your fuel before each outing rather than relying on another visitor’s experience.

If the gauge appears stuck, changes unexpectedly or doesn’t seem consistent with your driving, contact us. Don’t assume the tank is full because the gauge hasn’t moved.

How Much Will Fuel Cost?

Your refill cost depends on the station’s current pump price and how much fuel you need.

Check whether the displayed price is in Belize dollars or US dollars. BZ$2 equals US$1. Keep your receipt so you have a record of the refill.

We do not promise a fixed full-tank cost because pump prices and the amount needed can vary.

Where to Refuel in San Pedro

Choose a station that fits your route and confirm its opening hours before relying on a late refill.

Fuel stationLocationWhen it may be convenient
Caribeña Ltd. — Lagoon Back Gas StationCaribeña Street, on the lagoon side of downtown San PedroWhile running errands or returning through town
Caribeña FuelsCorner of Sea Grape Drive and Blake Street, south of townWhen staying or driving south

Ask our team to point out the most convenient station during handover. Before a longer outing, make sure you have enough fuel for the return journey as well.

Refuelling Your Cart

Park at the pump, switch off the engine and follow the attendant’s instructions. Keep flames and smoking materials away from the filling area.

If you’re unsure about the correct fuel or how to access the tank, ask our team before refuelling.

Returning the Cart With Fuel

Plan your final refill before the agreed collection or return time, especially if you have a flight or ferry to catch.

A US$50 / BZ$100 refuelling charge applies if the cart is not returned full.

This return charge is separate from what you would pay for fuel at a station. Refuelling before handover avoids the charge.

Quick Checks Before You Drive

Before setting off:

  • Check the fuel level.

  • Look for an obviously low or damaged tire.

  • Make sure everyone has a designated seat.

  • Secure bags without blocking the controls or foot space.

  • Check the lights before an evening journey.

  • Report leaks, unusual smells or anything that doesn’t seem to work correctly.

Use the handover to learn the controls, parking brake and locking procedure for your assigned cart.

Maintenance Is Our Responsibility

We inspect and clean our carts, checking items such as tires, brakes, lights, horn, fuel system and mechanical condition before delivery.

During your rental, your role is to notice and report problems. Contact Advanced before arranging repairs, replacing parts or having someone else tow the cart.

What to Do If Your Golf Cart Stops Working

  1. Stop safely. Move out of moving traffic if you can do so safely, apply the parking brake and switch off the cart.

  2. Contact Advanced: call or WhatsApp +501 614-4242.

  3. Send your location. A map pin, nearby business, accommodation name or clear landmark helps us find you.

  4. Describe the problem. Tell us whether the cart stopped while moving, won’t restart, has a flat tire or is showing another issue.

  5. Follow our team’s instructions. We’ll assess the situation and coordinate assistance.

Tell us if you have children with you, are in an exposed location or have a flight or ferry departure approaching.

On-Site Repairs and Battery Replacement

Many problems can be handled where the cart is located.

If a battery can be replaced on-site, we’ll replace it there. Other faults may also be resolved through a repair or part replacement without towing the cart.

Depending on the issue, our team may arrange a repair, replacement cart or towing.

When Does the Towing Fee Apply?

A BZ$250 / US$125 towing fee applies when the cart needs to be towed.

A breakdown does not automatically require towing. Our team will assess whether the problem can be resolved at your location first.

How Long Will Assistance Take?

Response time depends on your location, road conditions, weather and the assistance required. We’ll coordinate with you and provide an estimated arrival time when possible.

If you’re travelling farther north or toward Secret Beach, save our number before leaving and ask about any restrictions affecting your route.

Common Problems During a Rental

Stop somewhere safe and contact Advanced. Send your location and explain that you believe the tank is empty.

We’ll confirm the next steps and any applicable charges. Do not arrange towing yourself without speaking with our team.

Check only the basic starting and parking steps demonstrated at handover. If it still won’t start, contact us and describe what happens when you try.

Avoid repeatedly attempting to start it or trying unfamiliar mechanical adjustments.

Stop driving as soon as you can safely do so. Continuing on a flat tire can damage the wheel and make the cart harder to control.

Send us your location and, if safe, a photo of the affected tire.

Stop safely, switch off the engine and move passengers away from the cart. Do not restart it or refuel it.

Contact Advanced. If there is fire or immediate danger, call emergency services first.

Stop in a safe place and contact us. Do not continue along an unlit road without working lights.

Avoid water when you cannot judge its depth or see the road underneath. Mudguards and tires do not make the cart suitable for deep water or every sandy track.

If the cart stalls after entering water, do not keep trying to restart it. Contact Advanced for instructions.

Emergency Services and Medical Help

For injuries or immediate danger, contact emergency services before dealing with the rental arrangements.

The Polyclinic describes itself as a 24/7 public medical facility. Other facilities have their own operating hours and emergency arrangements.

Give responders your exact location and a nearby landmark. For serious injuries, request professional assistance rather than attempting to transport the injured person by golf cart.

Once immediate assistance is arranged, notify Advanced if the cart has been involved in an accident or damaged.

Returning Your Cart Without Last-Minute Confusion

Confirm the return location and time with us before your departure day. Allow time to refill the tank, remove your belongings and hand over the keys and lock.

If our team hasn’t arrived at the agreed meeting point, call or WhatsApp Advanced directly at +501 614-4242. Tell us your location and departure time.

Do not hide keys or leave them with another person unless Advanced has specifically agreed to that arrangement. Obtain return instructions directly from our team.
